My Day Today

  • Jun. 4th, 2008 at 5:14 PM

I kind of had a sickie today. Well actually, I did have a sickie.  And it was good too.  I just lazed around (Jacob goes to Daycare on Wednesdays), watched a movie on Foxtel (The Brave One - with Jodie Foster) and then got some organising/filing done in the study.  So I am now sitting in a nice clean, sorted, comfortable space to write in this journal.

I've had a hectic last few weeks and will try to write about that in future.  Just let me say that getting my son's tonsils and adenoids out was one of my worst parenting experiences.  I just wasn't prepared for what it would be like.

Anyways, I'm off out to dinner tonight with some friends from high school.  We try to meet once a month.  It's amazing that the four of us are still friends after so long.  These are friends that know me inside and out and have been through everything in my adult life with me.  I don't have to put on any persona with them.  I can be myself - good and bad.  I value them so highly.  I will have to remember to remind them how I feel when I see them tonight...awwww...

tonsils AND andenoids??? wow .. poor little man and poor you. It's horrible to have to be a parent when they have to go through anything like that ... :( ... I really feel for you.

I hope you have a wonderful night out - sounds like you need it and isn't it great when you can just be yourself ...

Have fun!

Yeah, we do get more than enough sick leave. But I had to use all mine when I was pregnant :( And yes, now that those nasty things are out of Jacob, he's been breathing soooooo well. Makes a huge difference :)

And you know me...name a day, time and place and I'm there to meet you!! Maybe go to Chermside and do lunch and a movie one weekend?? Or I'm happy to go/do something else? Bring Nicole along?? Maybe she has some ideas on where to go?? Let me know :)

Poor jacob - tonsils and adenoids at once! Ew! Poor you! No wonder you need a break.

Your friends sound wonderful and I hope you had a nice dinner :)

Yeah getting the tonsils and adenoids out was a big decision. I'm glad we did it now, but at the time we questioned our decision - big time! But now he's all good so we're starting to see the benefits.

Now if only I could get him to sleep through the whole night, I'd be a pretty happy mum - LOL!!
